Having lived in Ireland for a spell, along with travels in Scotland and Wales (not to mention having a few distant roots in Scotland), owner KRISTA KING was inspired to create clothing from the beautiful Celtic heritage - something to evoke it's mystery & timelessness.  A graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design, creating artistic apparel was a natural fit for Krista.  Here in scenic Vancouver, B.C. Canada (where ocean, mountains and rainforest play together) Krista has been creating, sewing and hand-embroidering these romantic Celtic cloaks since 1991, selling them in stores in and around the city.

With the formation of SIRIUS SPINNING, Krista King has expanded the scope of her custom order service (see ORDERING page), taking a cue from the international interest her coats have attracted:

  • the first coat made by Krista was bought by a Japanese customer and taken home
        to Tokyo
  • one of the numerous custom orders made includes a coat for Mairead ni Mhaonaigh,
        lead singer / fiddle player for the traditional Irish band Altan
